As a young boy I would play in the woods outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. I would build forts, climb trees and discover old sites where Native Americans once roamed. Growing up in a time without social media and internet, things were simpler and the physical world was everything. Which could explain my fascination with painting landscapes and skies. Inheriting the artistic gift to create from my mother, I was fortunate that she nurtured my talent by enrolling me into art school at an early age. During those years I would participate in youth craft fairs, mixed media arts and museum outings. Being in the south, I was exposed to American antiquity and gained an eye for classical design; which has always motivated my vision and has been an anchor of inspiration throughout my life. Currently I’m finishing my BFA in Painting and plan on continuing my education with an MFA in Art History.

Since moving to Sonoma County in 2003, I’ve been successful in painting and floral design. I have had the most success from painting, starting with my first commission back in 2009. I was able to turn a small amount of investment into an income I could support my art. After selling out of my first series throughout Healdsburg and Sonoma, I moved to Napa County where I now paint in an old barn on our family’s cattle ranch. Motivated by that success, I have been able to expand my artistry to include commissions for wine labels, published floral designs as well as art installations throughout San Francisco and the surrounding areas.
